| The book was taken on Saturday, 1st October. It was a dark green Lighthouse binder (Optima Classic Gigant type) containing our stock of French Colonies Volume III. It started with Niger & went through alphabetically to Wallis et Futuna. The stength was in Reunion and St. Pierre et Miquelon. There was no Tunisia or French Southern & Antarctic Territories. Both the spine & the front cover were marked as "French Colonies III" containing an extensive priced stock of French Colonies stamps from N to Z (excl. Tunisia). Approximately 80 black Hagner sheets with white adhesive hand-written price stickers in 40 plastic sheet protectors. The book is large & bulky - weighing 3 to 4 kilos. Suspects are 2 Asian men and an Asian woman in their 40s. | Stolen on 25 January 2010 in Brussels: a rare TWO PENCE postal stationery envelope of 1856 with a TWO PENCE adhesive for the redirection fee to the country estate of Althorp belonging to the aristocratic family of Earl Spencer. The collection was stolen by an unknown person on the station platform at Brussels, as the owner was changing trains from a Eurostar to an ICE train. The theft has been reported to the police at Monheim in the Rhineland region of Germany. | Circumstances: Lost in transit by TNT courier. Tracked as far as the Netherlands where sent out for delivery and lost at that point. Description: 1818 PACKET LETTER: Folded letter to Scotland bearing complete bold strike of the CAPE PACKET LETTER oval of 9 MY 1818. Rated at 4/8. On reverse sender's red wax seal. Few examples exist, this one is Ex Goldblatt and illustrated in "Postmarks of the Cape of Good Hope". Accordingly it is advised to the Cape Study Circle and the various exhibition circuits that it is Missing/Stolen and so cannot have commercial value or be shown in an exhibit without bringing problems to the exhibitor. €250 reward. |

| Dear Sir/Madam It is with regret that I have to inform you that we experienced a robbery at Stampwise (the Post Office Museum) at Church Square, Pretoria on Wednesday, 23 June 2004. Fourteen large ledgers with commemorative and definitive stamps of the Republic of South Africa from 1993 to 2000 were stolen. Two ledgers, however, included earlier commemorative issues from 1979 to 1989, including miniature sheets for the period 1979 to1982. The material for 1993 to 2000 included imperf proof sheets, proof sheets in uncut format (i.e. with horisontal and vertical gutters between both sheets), uncut coils (1981) and booklet proofs. The matter has been reported to the South African Police Services, who has also involved their Serious and Violent Crime Unit due to the historical and commercial value of the stamps. We would like to appeal to anybody who has any information in this regard to contact Inspector Cronje at 082 335 2329 of the South African Police Services or Johan van Wyk at (012) 845-2901 or 082 557 4242 regarding the matter. Your assistance in the matter is highly appreciated. We will leave no stone unturned to recover the stamps and to bring the culprit(s) to book. | These stamps where sent to denmark for aproval by me early december 2005. They have been shipped back by the examiner just before christmas (22nd / 23rd) but they never arrived in the netherlands. Customs does not have record of it going in to the Netherlands. It was a registered package which is being track and sought after by danish mail. The stamps where on there way back to me so certificates (in english) will be added by each of them (certificate numbers and expertizer will follow if material comes up again). |
